Bless You
Whenever
someone sneezes, you say “Bless you’ or hear someone else say these words.
People say bless you because it’s
used to wish a person’s blessings when they sneeze. The practice of blessing someone who
sneezes, the term originated from at least AD 77.This saying or expression
originated when the Pope in AD 590 as an outbreak of the bubonic plague was
reaching Rome. In hopes of fighting off the disease, he ordered unending prayer
and parades of chanters through the streets. At the time, sneezing was thought
to be an early symptom of the plague. The blessing became a common effort to
halt the disease. The term that we use “Bless You” probably originated from back in time
with the romans when the disease was breaking out to all people
